Famous rapper Rod Wave was arrested for drug and weapon charges on Friday, November 7th, 2025.

According to a Fox 5 article, the 27-year-old Florida native, whose real name is Rodarious Green, was pulled over in metro Atlanta by a patrol officer who noticed Green speeding through a stop sign and revving his engine. The Dodge Challenger was stopped at a nearby gas station.

The officer searched Green’s car after smelling marijuana and seeing a firearm in his waistband. Marijuana and other controlled substances were found in the search. He was then arrested and booked into Fulton County Jail.

According to CBS News, Green’s jail records show that he was charged with possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, reckless driving, and possession of a Schedule II and Schedule V controlled substance.

Green was released on a $8000 bond, according to The New York Times.

“We look forward to vigorously challenging this baseless arrest and the clear violations of Mr. Green’s rights in court,” the rapper’s three attorneys wrote CBS News Atlanta.

Green’s arrest came hours after he received his first Grammy Award nomination for his song “Sinners,” which appeared on the soundtrack for the popular 2025 movie Sinners. “Sinners” is in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category.

Some fans are very disappointed in Rod Wave's decisions and arrest.

“How do you go from getting nominated for a Grammy for the first time in your career to getting arrested for stupid things?” said 2nd-year computer engineering major Autumn Sanders. “I wish he would make better decisions because he has done so well for himself. I hope he doesn’t mess everything up.”

The authorities have not released what other drugs were found in the vehicle or if Green legally owns the firearm. His court date has also not been released.
