Zendaya made a surprise appearance at a Las Vegas wedding chapel ahead of the release of her upcoming A24 film with Robert Pattinson, “The Drama”. The internet went into a frenzy, especially as Zendaya herself is rumored to have recently married Tom Holland.

The surprise appearance took place at “The Drama Wedding Chapel”, a one-day installation created by A24 to promote the film. The studio invited couples to be married there during a limited two-hour window.

During one ceremony, actress Zendaya walked in alongside co-star Alana Haim, drawing audible gasps and cheers from attendees. Zendaya remained through the ceremony, posing for photos with the newlyweds and even signing their marriage certificate as an official witness, turning what was already a highly curated promotional event into a memorable moment for the couple and their guests.

Speculation surrounding the Emmy-award winning actress’s personal life only intensified after the Las Vegas chapel appearance. Earlier in the year, Zendaya’s longtime stylist Law Roach made comments that many fans interpreted as confirmation for a quiet marriage between Zendaya and Tom Holland. The unexpected stunt also sparked debate among students about where creative promotion ends and calculated marketing begins. Students in the Hampton University Student Film Organization shared their thoughts.

“A24 has a great marketing tactic compared to traditional studios,” Farrah Mussa, first-year journalism major shared. “It’s very receptive to what works with its audience and how to connect with watchers. Celeb appearances at real life events genuinely make me more interested in what’s going on because if it’s worth a celebrity’s time it not only sparks natural curiosity in me as a fan but also as a consumer.”

The overlap between her private life and the film's romantic themes fueled online fascination, making the appearance feel less like a typical publicity stint and more like an extension of her off-screen relationship. For others, there was an obvious separation between the two.

“I feel like her wedding was more marketing for the movie even though we saw nothing of the wedding. I just felt like that reminded me more of the romantic movie, whatever romantic drama, whatever she's filming. It was just random to me,” Noelle Treadwell, first-year business marketing major said. “But I honestly think that the Zendaya appearance at the Vegas wedding was pretty cool but it just felt a little random to me. I feel like there have been better marketing strategies for movies”

The upcoming film The Drama, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, centers on a complicated romantic relationship and the pressures of public scrutiny. The filmis set to release in theaters Apr 3, 2026.
